Ruck

Made for watchOS and iOS

Rucking is a form of exercise that involves intentionally carrying heavy weight over a distance. It varies from walking, running, and hiking. Burn rates are calculated using formulae such as those from K B Pandolf et. al; factoring in bodyweight, load, terrain, speed, and more. Now you can track rucks in real-time, right on your wrist. Learn more about rucking.

Ruck feels right at home on Apple Watch, inheriting most of its user interface from Workout and requiring as little interaction as possible.
  • Body mass

Just like any other workout, you're already moving your own body. Set your body mass or read it from HealthKit.
  • Load

Configure the sum of your additional load. Roughly 1/3 of your bodyweight is a good target, but anything counts.
  • Terrain

Ashphalt, grass, mud, snow… Ground resistance affects calorie burn during a workout, and is compounded by load.
  • Multiple formulae

Published for the U.S. military, both the Pandolf et. al (1977) and Pandolf-Santee (2003) formulae are available.
  • HealthKit

All workout data from energy and heartrate to distance and elevation is synced and accessible via Apple Fitness.
  • Made for watchOS

Apple Watch-first with an iOS companion app and a lightweight user interface inspired by Workout.
